Bogus Kentucky ‘Voter Guide’<\/p><\/div>\n

Here in Kentucky, we’ve got an off-cycle election this November 3rd.\u00a0 This year, we are electing a new governor plus other state officials.\u00a0 We’ve been getting the usual political flyers in the mail, mostly related to the race for governor.<\/p>\n

Here in Northern Kentucky, on Friday, October 30, we received a ‘voting guide for Kentucky Seniors.’\u00a0 It includes a facsimile of the Kentucky state seal.\u00a0 It proposes to provide a ‘side-by-side analysis of the two gubernatorial candidates.’<\/p>\n

Inside, there really is no comparison…this is a pro-democratic flyer which supports Jack Conway, the democratic candidate for Kentucky Governor.<\/p>\n

It appears that the intent of this mail pice is to only loosely resemble an official communication from the state.\u00a0 Most people won’t be fooled by this, but a few will, and it’s those few that this mailing is attempting to trick.<\/p>\n

I feel that any campaign that resorts to trickery to attempt to garner votes deserves to be called out.\u00a0 So I’m calling out the Jack Conway campaign, and the Kentucky Democratic Party:\u00a0 You are doing damage to an already damaged electoral process, and you are causing already-cynical voters to become even more cynical.\u00a0 In addition, I’m sure the Democratic Party timed this mailing for the last few days before the election so that any resulting blow-back will likely get lost in the shuffle of election week.<\/p>\n

I’m not going to divulge a voting preference, but remember that most Kentuckians have historically voted democratic in state elections.\u00a0 However, I will say that if I were<\/em> going to vote for Conway, then he would<\/em> have just lost my vote.<\/p>\n

Now I bestow my most vicious curse upon these miscreants:\u00a0 May the fleas of one thousand camels infest your armpits!<\/p>\n
